Home School Student Information

This packet provides general information regarding homeschooling requirements and regulations, as well as sample affidavits for Elementary and Secondary students. For further information, please go to the Pennsylvania Department of Education under homeschooling.

Your affidavit must be received by August 1st and your evaluation received by June 30th of each year. The affidavit must include the required medical information/ Immunizations and the required instructional objectives. These completed materials should be sent to the Corry School District Central Administration Office for review by the Home School Liaison.

Please note that you will need to keep a portfolio of records demonstrating student learning. At the end of the school year, you must hire a teacher certified at your child’s appropriate grade level to review the materials and complete an evaluation attesting that the instructional and attendance requirements were appropriately met. State attendance regulations still require 180 days of attendance as a homeschooler. In addition, standardized testing is mandatory in grades 3, 5, and 8. You may utilize your own state approved assessment or contact your local school to participate in district assessments.
  • If you are also planning to take classes offered by the Corry School District, you must enroll in the district and complete the appropriate affidavit.
If you have any questions please contact Dr. Michele Miller, Home School Liaison at 814-664-4677, ext. 3204
